Dogs at Work - News Story

I was searching the internet for stories on people who bring their dogs to work and found this CBS  news story.   Does your workplace allow for canine employees?  I have worked out of my home and my dog Oscar has been somewhat of a productive "assistant".  If alerting me to the mailman coming or pulling paper out of the recycle box and shredding accordingly is considered productive.

This organization is absolutely amazing.  You need to see the video as words can't truly describe what wonderful work they do.  Hats off to Muttville.

Dog Friendly Resorts

I just spent a couple of glorious days at Harrison Hot Springs here in British Columbia and I was pleased to see they allowed pets.  Oscar, my four-legged "son", was back home with my hubby's Mom and Dad, but had he joined us, he would have been given the thumbs up.  Although his Bichon Frise "burnouts" around the lobby might have been a resort etiquette faux pas.

There's a wonderful magazine called Fido Friendly that has excellent suggestions on where do go with your pooch and helpful travel tips every dog owner should know.   Leave No Dog Behind is their trademarked slogan.   Gotta love it.

They have a great subscription special on now through their website.

Pet Finder....Over 12 Million adoptions!

Pet Finder is a wonderful site for resources and ways to search for a pet to adopt.  They have had over 12 millions adoptions since 1995.  Be sure to check out their videos that are on the main page, including tips for adopting dogs and cats.

Canines with a Cause

I'm very pleased to be sending "Pet Book Lady" magnets and coupons to an upcoming event in support of an organization, Canines with a Cause.   This is from their website, which is packed with great information and heart-warming stories about their amazing volunteers.  "CWAC is a registered charity dedicated to train and provide assistance dogs for people in the community with mobility related disabilities. Our charity truly relies on the support from the community so that we can continue to offer these very special dogs to those who need them".  

They're having their 4th Annual Trivia Night Fundraiser with registration and pledge forms available on their website.   Sounds like a whole lot of fun and for a great cause too.
